The Southwest Dance Department proudly presents its 2021 Winter Dance Film Festival! The Southwest High School dancers successfully pivot in distance learning to produce – not a concert – but an innovative collection of original dance films. These films show their versatility, introspection, creativity, and joy. The student and guest choreographers used what was available to them in their quarantine lives and merged what they found with what they felt. The festival features solos, duets, trios and two group pieces choreographed by professional Twin Cities artists Erinn Liebhard and Renee Guittar. Most films are 2-3 minutes long and the full evening is 50 minutes in its entirety. This performance is not meant to take the place of a live concert, but instead showcases the students’ journey in learning how to be film-makers. Please enjoy watching the students’ deeply personal work from the comfort of your home.
