With just over a week before showtime, we 've not yet reached $10,000 in donations, and our annual goal - to fund all five performing arts disciplines at SWHS - is $100,000. Can you help today? Donate to our Giving Board , or Buy Your Hot Notes Meal or Dessert now.

Our fourth Hot Notes Hot Minute features Margaret Berg (with Amanda Himebaugh) speaking about how SWHS virtual theatre productions have given our students a sense of "normal" in what's been an anything but normal year. We've lost a complete cycle of opportunities to sell tickets to cover the costs of staging shows. Please donate what you can, and let's bring SWHS Performing Arts roaring back! Erin Brown, SWHS Dance Instructor, explains how the small amount of money received from MPS for Dance Education is applied. Please give what you can to ensure financial stability for SWHS Performing Arts curriculum and programs. Did you know that the Minneapolis School District provides about $300 to $500 per year for the entire Band-Orchestra-Jazz program at Southwest High School? As noted by Reid Wixson, Director of Instrumental Music Education, that amount pays for a bus to get the marching band to the Minnesota State Fair. The remainder of the year is not funded. We need your help. In our first Hot Notes Hot Minute video: SWHS Director of Guitar Instruction Ruth Lemay shares a thought about the impact of a Performing Arts Education. Want to make YOUR impact? A single $100 donation buys a guitar for Ruth's innovative 3 Strings program! All donations $500 and up to our Giving Board automatically enter you into a drawing for a Scottsdale Vacation Home Getaway!
Donated by Dave and Kim Schoenecker Together we can raise $156,000 for Southwest High School Performing Arts if we sell out every square on our Giving Board. Do we need to clear this board? ... YES! After one year without any admission-revenue shows... and no Basilica Concert last winter, and all the costs associated with adapting to distance learning... the need has never been greater. Every donation square shows what that level of giving provides. DONATE NOW! Thank you for supporting SWHS Performing Arts.
